Working with Landry Law, PLLC

Clients

Individuals, Fiduciaries, and Businesses Working with Landry Law

At Landry Law, clients’ goals come first. Your wishes are the guide in designing the plan and administration. Every matter here starts with you contacting Landry Law with your information and scheduling a call.

On the initial call, we will discuss in general terms what you are looking to have done, your goals, and how we would work together. If all wish to move forward, you will sign an engagement letter and pay a retainer. Depending upon the type of work involved, you will fill out a questionnaire that assists you in gathering the needed information and thinking about important concepts ahead of the next call.

After reviewing the information you provide, Landry Law is able to have a fuller discussion with you regarding prioritizing your goals and needs to get into the specifics of your plan. For some, a single conversation will be enough to start working on the next steps, while other clients and matters will require multiple discussions to ensure that you are not overloaded with new information. Having multiple calls allows you to focus on the important pieces and make educated decisions without getting overwhelmed. This stage of designing your individualized plan with your goals is incredibly important in making sure that the plan accomplishes what you want.

As we move through the next steps, communication is vital to ensuring that your goals are met.

Landry Law encourages you to review all documents and strategies multiple times and to ask questions to ensure you understand it. When you understand your legal work, you know when to call again in the future, whether to check on if something needs to be changed or to make updates.

After the plan is designed, drafts will be prepared and sent to you. Knowing that these documents can be dense, we will go over the concepts and specifics of them to make sure you know what they say before signing. Changes are made based upon that discussion before the plan is ready for execution (which means you sign the documents and put the plan into place). As a note, with some matters no documents need to be signed.

The specifics of signing will depend upon your plan. After signing, however, steps still must be taken to implement your plan. Doing so is essential to the plan working. Landry Law, PLLC works with you through implementation (when appropriate) to be sure that the plan we design together actually works for you and accomplishes your goals.

After your estate plan is established, administration of your trust and/or estate will be needed. During your lifetime, trust administration might be needed, from minor items that minimally affect you to more significant work to be done regularly. After your death, your estate administration will be needed, to some degree. Administration, of course, works differently than planning. We will have the calls needed to determine the right steps to take, especially taking into account the entire circumstances. For example, trust administration may require quarterly or annual meetings and actions whereas probate administration involves a series of steps to start promptly. While developing your plan, we will discuss how much administration is appropriate.

Throughout all of this, Landry Law, PLLC works with you, focused on your goals, to be proactive in preparing, protecting, and preserving you, your loved ones, your business, and your assets.

Landry Law views the attorney-client relationship as a partnership of sorts. We are working together to be proactive in preparing, protecting, and preserving you and your loved ones. By collaborating to find the best overall plan for you, considering the tax, legal, and practical implications and working with any other advisors you wish, your goals lead the way while leaving the legalese off of your plate. Along with this, Attorney Landry is often a mix of happy and sad when completing matters: thrilled for you to be prepared but sad to no longer be in regular contact with you. Luckily, even when your legal matter and relationship ends, your general relationship with the practice does not need to stop then, as Landry Law can continue to be a resource for you in several ways. Additionally, Landry Law encourages you to keep sending updates on how you are doing in life, business, or both - it’s wonderful to see you flourish!
